What is linen made of?

Linen is made from flax, a natural fibre. Our linen is woven from 100% pure European flax, long staple yarns through a low-impact process without harsh chemicals.

Where is your linen sourced?

Our linen is sourced in Europe. Our yarns are spun in one of the oldest flax mills in Europe with 90+ years of experience, and we dye our yarn before its woven for a longer-lasting, more desirable finish. 

As we craft your linen bedding, we consciously choose to spin, dye, weave, sew, and finish our textiles in one facility to minimize our carbon footprint.

All chemicals and dyes used on our linen bedding are certified under the EU’s thorough REACH Regulation to ensure that no hazardous substances are involved in the process.

Sömn’s machine-washable, no-iron necessary, all-season fabrics offer you more luxury with less upkeep, while limiting their impact on the environment. You can easily wash, dry, and enjoy your sheets on the same day. 

In addition to being environmentally-friendly, linen is also hypoallergenic, temperature-regulating, antibacterial, anti-static, and moisture-wicking. 

Lovingly stone-washed before it reaches your bedroom, our linen also has a tousled, lived-in effect that keeps getting softer with age.

How should I care for linen bedding?

Hand or machine wash under 30ºC / 86ºF on a gentle cycle with similar colours using mild detergent. We recommend removing linen from the dryer while still slightly damp to air dry until it completely dries.

If you feel the need to iron, use a low setting. Do not dry clean, tumble dry on high heat, wring out, or use bleach. This will damage and shorten the lifespan of linen.

How can I be sure of the size and fit of your sheets and duvet covers?

A size chart is available on our website. If you’re still unsure, please get in touch here and we’ll be happy to help you navigate the size and fit of your bedding.

(Please note, due to the nature of our linen fabric, please allow a +/- 2~3% of size difference from the size chart provided.)

Can my gift card expire?

No, gift cards do not expire in Canada.

Can I cash your gift cards?

You can not redeem a gift card for cash in Canada.

Do you accept returns or refunds on gift cards?

Sömn Home does not accept returns or refunds on gift cards.

Order Processing

What is a Pre-Order & Special Order?

A pre-order is an order that is pre-paid before the item(s) becomes available, with the understanding that it will be shipped later.

A special order is an order for an item specially requested by a customer. This type of order is treated as a final sale, non-refundable, non-exchangeable once the order has been processed. A 100% deposit is required to initiate a Special Order.

What if my order is cancelled?

Sömn Home reserves the right to cancel any orders suspected of fraudulent activity. Any orders cancelled due to this will be notified by email and refunded in full.

What are the taxes and duties?

International

International orders may be subject to taxes and duties levied by the importing country. Customers are responsible for the payment of any duties and taxes not included in the original purchase price. Rejecting payment of duties and taxes will lead to your order being returned to us. In this event, you will be credited the amount you paid minus the restocking fee.

How long will my order take to arrive?

All orders begin processing the following business day. Please note, orders placed on Friday will begin processing on the following Monday as we are closed on weekends. We ship within 48 hours after processing has begun.

Please expect 5-7 business days for shipping within Canada and the USA, and 9-12 business days for international shipping. Delivery times do not include Saturday, Sunday, or statutory holidays.

When international orders reach their destination country, they may be subject to customs clearance procedures which may cause delays beyond original delivery estimates. Additional fees may also be incurred depending upon the destination country’s import laws.

Customers are responsible for the payment of any duties and taxes not included in the original purchase price.

Shipping

What is your shipping policy?

All orders ship from our warehouse in Vancouver, British Columbia. You will receive an email with tracking information when your order has shipped.

Local deliveries do not receive a tracking number, and your package will be delivered within the selected timeframe. Our team will notify you by email or phone about any delay or schedule changes.

Fabric swatches are shipped with standard mail and do not include tracking.

How can I get free shipping?

Free shipping applies to:

Orders with a Canadian delivery address of a subtotal exceeding $150 CAD.

Orders with an American delivery address of a subtotal exceeding $200 USD.

I haven't received my order. What should I do?

So sorry about that! To start a claim, please get in touch with us via email at contact@somnhome.com with your order number, full name, and email address.

We’ll begin an investigation into your package and will keep you updated every step of the way.

What if items are lost or damaged in transit?

Sömn Home is not liable for damages incurred during transit. Goods damaged in transit are the responsibility of the shipping provider, and we do not assume any liability for lost or damaged packages.

Return Policy

What is your return policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item(s) must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, unused, unwashed, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or a proof of purchase.

Please inspect your items upon receiving your order. Contact us within 7 days if an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect so that we can look into the issue and make it right.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept exchanges or returns on used products, sales and discounted items or gift cards. For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns on duvets and pillows.

Orders shipped outside of Canada & United States are final sale.

Are there any return fees?

Yes, shipping & restocking fees are applicable for order refunds. They are in place to cover a portion of the cost of our shipping labels, and if applicable, cross-border fees.

Additionally, these fees contribute to inspecting, administrating, cleaning and repackaging returns as well as credit card fees. This expense is not built into our prices because we believe in making our products available to you at the fairest possible price.

Canadian & US Return Methods:

  • Shipping & handling fee + 3% restocking fee per item on paid price.

International Returns:

  • Orders shipped outside of Canada & United States are final-sale.

Warranty

What is your product warranty?

If the product is defective in materials or artistry, you can return it for a repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion.

This guarantee does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, everyday wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colours and materials over extended time and use.

With proper care, your linen will get softer and more enjoyable with age! We recommend hand or machine washing under 30ºC / 86ºF on a gentle cycle with similar colours using mild detergent. We recommend removing linen from the dryer while still slightly damp to air dry until it completely dries.
